What is A.A.? (Alcoholics Anonymous)

Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

What is District 13? What does that mean?

District 13 refers to the cities of Ventura, Ojai and Meiners Oaks California which is part of Area 93 & is made up of General Service Representatives, (G.S.R.'s), of local meetings, committee chairs and volunteers that are the go to between AA World Services in New York & themselves. There is no "Governance" in AA. The volunteers that participate in AA General Service only do so as humble servants of the groups and meetings they represent.
